THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BERNIE'S DREAM (L Ferraris) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) SOVEREIGN SOLDIER (*J Jacobs) was hanging in from the 400m. b) At the 200m, SUPERIOR LEADER (R Munger) which was hanging in from the 300m, had to ease when awkwardly placed between LIVING WATERS (W Kennedy) which rolled out and CUPID'S SONG (S Randolph) which rolled in. c) Jockey L Ferraris reported that BERNIE'S DREAM did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) In view of the performance of BEDAZZLED JOKER (A Marcus) (14.25 lengths, 14/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer A Wright will be advised to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. e) TROMSO (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
