THE STARTER REPORTED A) SWAZI QUEEN was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) Shortly after the start, TROPICAL GIVER (J Mphanya) was bumped outwards by FRENCH DECLARATION (AUS) (G van Niekerk) which commenced to over-race. Thereafter, FRENCH DECLARATION (AUS) continued to over race in the early and middle stages, proved difficult to assist and failed to negotiate the first turn. B) An inquiry will be opened to establish why MUSICAL GLITCH (M V'Rensburg) and SARAJEVO (C Maujean) had to ease approaching the first turn. C) MUSICAL GLITCH (M V'Rensburg) was hanging in from the 300m. D) Jockey J Mphanya reported that he felt something amiss with TROPICAL GIVER in the running and did not persevere with his ride from the 300m. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. E) The winner SWAZI QUEEN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Assistant Trainer D G Smith acting on behalf of Trainer C Bass-Robinson advised (LM). F) The second placed horse COLORADO SPRINGS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Assistant Trainer A Mtengwana acting on behalf of Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM). THERE WERE NO JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES THERE WERE NO RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED A) SWAZI QUEEN left hind brushed wound inside pastern.
