THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) LOOKING HOT (R Munger) stumbled leaving the stalls.
b) SHIELD OF ROSES (M Yeni) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
c) CINDERELLA STORY (W Marwing) was slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) MAMA TEMBU (R Danielson) hung in from the 400m.
Jockey R Danielson was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking MAMA TEMBU more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey R Danielson signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1,000-00 was imposed.
When assessing the penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of strikes (14), the manner in which the crop was used and Jockey R Danielson's recent record with regard to this Rule and Guideline.
b) DESERT MIRACLE (G Lerena) shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages.
c) Jockey C Zackey reported that CHICAGO LASS made an abnormal respiratory noise in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
d) Jockey C Maujean reported that STOLEN KISS made an abnormal respiratory noise in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
e) SHIELD OF ROSES (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
