THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLIZZARD AHEAD (R Simons) was restless in the stalls. b) KATZENTHAL (G Lerena) jumped outwards sharply leaving the stalls. c) GROOMEDTOWIN (*J Solomons), WHO'S THAT STAR (D De Gouveia) and WOODS CAMPUS (*G Pieterse) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, GROOMEDTOWIN (*J Solomons), became unbalanced when bumped outwards by LEAN ON ME (Wes Marwing), which was bumped by KATZENTHAL (G Lerena), which jumped outwards sharply. b) At approximately the 300m, CATCHTHEGREENLIGHT (W Kennedy) ducked out sharply and had to ease off the heels of PINO SILVESTRE (W Marwing). c) ON THE WARPATH (M van Rensburg) hung in from the 300m. d) SONNY QUINN (C Maujean) hung out from the 200m. e) Jockey G Lerena reported that KATZENTHAL (6,00 lengths) changed stride continually in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) Jockey S Khumalo reported that PARKER GETRIX made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. g) PINO SILVESTRE (W Marwing), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W H Marwing advised (M du Plessis). Notwithstanding the fact that PINO SILVESTRE (W Marwing) had been rested since October 2020, Trainer W Marwing was asked if he could offer any other factors which may have accounted for this gelding's improved performance. In this regard, he was unable to provide any suitable explanation. Trainer W H Marwing's attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to In and Out running. JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) IMITATION GAME raced equipped with blinkers (declared 14 April 2021 at 11H37). b) WHO'S THAT STAR raced unshod (declared 17 April 2021 at 07H49).
