THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) BLOOD EAGLE (*J Jacobs) was restless in the stalls.
b) LADOOSHKA (C Storey) was difficult to load. Trainer D Campbell was advised to re-school this gelding.
c) KHIZA (T Godden) was restless in the stalls, fly-jumped and thereafter, was slow into stride.
d) RAMPAGE (R Munger) lost 2 lengths.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) LADOOSHKA (C Storey) raced greenly in the running, was hanging out from the 800m, proving difficult to assist. Thereafter, this gelding finished its race off strongly in the concluding stages.
b) At the 500m, NORTHERN TUNE (M Yeni) was brushed out by CASIMIRO (A Marcus) which rolled out.
c) RAMPAGE (R Munger) was hanging out from the 400m.
d) GIMME A RAINBOW (L Hewitson) was hanging in from the 200m.
e) KING'S SPEAR (W Kennedy) was hanging in, in the concluding stages.
f) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning TRUMPET VOLUNTARY, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer M Dixon was advised. (Suspension Dates : 19.04.21 - 17.06.21, bdi)
g) Jockey S Veale signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he mis-used his crop by striking the horse RAISE THE STANDARD more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey S Veale the Board considered the number of times (15) Jockey S Veale struck the horse RAISE THE STANDARD, the distance over which and manner in which, Jockey S Veale used his crop and his record (0) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R750 was imposed.
h) CASIMIRO (A Marcus), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P L Lafferty advised (ML).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a) FLAMING FIRE was ridden by Jockey K de Melo (advised 16.04.21/11h05).
b) KHIZA was ridden by Jockey T Godden (advised 18.04.21/07h56).
c) GIMME A RAINBOW raced with a compression mask.

THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED :
a) TRUMPET VOLUNTARY : Bi-lateral epistaxis. Confirmed 60 days suspension.
b) GIMME A RAINBOW : Returned post race having cast the left front shoe.
