The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer S Tarry will be advised to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of this gelding on return to the stables. e) In view of the performance of AZORES (K de Melo) (12.70 lengths, 18/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer D Kannemeyer will be advised to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of this gelding on return to the stables. f) Trainer G S Kotzen (MY BESTIE) will be advised that his runner failed to adequately parade and should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. g) Jockey S Veale signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he mis-used his crop by striking the horse BLACK KNAP more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey S Veale the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey S Veale struck the horse BLACK KNAP, the distance over which and manner in which, Jockey S Veale used his crop and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R750 was imposed. h) Trainer S J Snaith signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 11.2.8, in that he presented CROWN TOWERS (AUS) in the parade ring incorrectly equipped for this Race.
