THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PATON'S TEARS (C Zackey) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 300m, CASTELLANO (S Khumalo) had to check when awkwardly placed between SULTANAH (L J Ferraris) and VIRGINIA (*C F Dicken) which shifted in away from the crop. Apprentice C F Dicken was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he, as the rider of VIRGINIA, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to CASTELLANO (S Khumalo) when he shifted in at approximately the 300m. Apprentice Dicken signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of seven days. Suspension dates: 25 April 2021 to 1 May 2021 (both days inclusive). b) SULTANAH (L J Ferraris) hung out and PATON'S TEARS (C Zackey) hung in in the concluding stages. c) Jockey L Hewitson reported that INVISIBLE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) PATON'S TEARS (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Houdalakis advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) PATON'S TEARS was ridden by Jockey C Zackey. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) INVISIBLE examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) DYNASTIC LIGHT coughing. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
