THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, ZERNEZ (M van Rensburg) kicked the back gates resulting in WINNING QUEEN (*C F Dicken) breaking through the front gates. WINNING QUEEN was restrained by Apprentice Dicken, returned to the start, examined by the Course Veterinary Surgeon and subsequently scratched. Trainer E Verdonese was advised to re-school WINNING QUEEN prior to her next engagement. b) PUCKER UP (*K Matsunyane) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MAZARI (R Munger) took an awkward stride at the 500m. b) SOPHIA'S FIRST (S Khumalo) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 400m. c) MIRREN (W Kennedy) hung out from the 300m. d) Jockey S Khumalo (SOPHIA'S FIRST) accidentally dropped his crop at the 50m. e) LEAGUE OF HER OWN (*J R Syster), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee C Vermeulen advised (DR). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) PUCKER UP was ridden by Apprentice K Matsunyane (declared 22 April 2021 at 08H04).
