THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ADIOS AMIGOS (C Murray) broke through the front gate, was immediately restrained by the rider, returned to the start, checked by the course veterinary surgeon and passed fit to race, causing a delay. b) CRIMSON KING (M Winnaar) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the report from the starter regarding ADIOS AMIGOS (C Murray), this colt's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 25/04/2021 to 01/05/2021 inclusive). ADIOS AMIGOS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. b) Jockey R Fourie was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking WARRIOR more than 12 times in the entire race. Jockey Fourie signed an admission of guilt and was fined R2000,00. In determining penalty, the Board took into account Jockey Fourie's recent record in relation to this Rule, the distance over and manner in which Jockey Fourie used his crop and the number of strikes (16) over the permissible level. c) In view of the performance of HOEDSPRUIT (A Marcus) (Betting 18/10 : Distance 6.75) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Assistant Trainer C Snaith, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised to report back on the condition of this gelding on his return to the stables. d) WARRIOR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
