THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, NEBRAAS (L Hewitson) was brushed in by FLASH BURN (L J Ferraris) which jumped inwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) HERODOTUS (C Maujean) over-raced in the early and middle stages, thereafter commenced to hang out around the turn and compounded from the 400m. b) Leaving the 400m, NEBRAAS (L Hewitson) was carried in marginally by WAR JEWEL (S Khumalo) which was hanging in. Thereafter leaving the 150m, when racing in close proximity, WAR JEWEL was brushed out by NEBRAAS which commenced to hang out and was straightened. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board into the above incident. After reviewing the patrol films of the race, he was satisfied that this incident had not affected the result. Accordingly, no further action was taken. c) THE CONTRACTOR (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Peter advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) FLASH BURN was ridden by Jockey L J Ferraris (declared 24 April 2021 at 07H36). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) CATEGORY FOUR raced unshod (declared 20 April 2021 at 13H34). b) NORDIC REBEL raced with a compression mask on (declared 20 April 2021 at 11H31). THE VETERINARY SURGEON HAD NO REPORTS. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
