THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 350m, WRITTEN IN STONE (W Kennedy) had to steady when awkwardly placed on the inside of DONNY G (*J R Syster) which was carried in by SEA VIRESCENT (S Khumalo) which was hanging in from the top of the straight. b) At approximately the 150m, CROWN GUARDIAN (C Zackey) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of SEA VIRESCENT (S Khumalo) which continued to hang in badly proving difficult to assist. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board into the above incident. After reviewing the patrol films of the race, he was satisfied that this incident had not affected the result. Accordingly, no further action was taken. When taking into consideration SEA VIRESCENT's history of hanging in, Trainer Laird will be advised to take the necessary corrective measures to ensure that this gelding stays straight in his races in future. c) Jockey L J Ferraris reported that INHERIT THE RAIN took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) FULL VELOCITY (L Hewitson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Nako advised (MdP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) VIPER JET was ridden by Jockey C Maujean (declared 24 April 2021 at 07H38). b) SEA VIRESCENT was ridden by Jockey S Khumalo. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) INHERIT THE RAIN Jockey L J Ferraris weighed out at 54,1kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) INHERIT THE RAIN examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
