THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LUCRETIUS (A Mgudlwa) was restless in the stalls, removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn. b) OUR SECRET (W Kennedy) and ALMA MATER (R Fourie) lost 1 length, respectively. c) DIEDI (C Zackey) was restless in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to LUCRETIUS, this colt's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 27.04.21 to the 03.05.21. LUCRETIUS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer W Badenhorst was advised. (SN) b) Jockey C Habib appeared before a member of the Stipendiary Board and was questioned with regard to the non-vigorous nature of his ride on DIEDI in the first half of the straight. In this regard, Jockey C Habib explained to the Board that, his instructions were to give this gelding a patient ride as it had shown a tendency to run on and stop. However, when Jockey C Habib entered the straight as his mount began to run on, he became awkwardly placed on the heels of MASTER DANCER (S Veale) which resulted in him having to wait for MASTER DANCER to shift across DIEDI. Thereafter, when he switched in to continue his run and changed his crop hand, this gelding ran on strongly. The Board has adjourned this matter in order to interview Trainer C Hewitson. c) GIMME A RAINBOW (L Hewitson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Hewitson advised (SC). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) GIMME A RAINBOW raced with a compression mask. b) PRINCE VIHAAN was ridden by Jockey L Mxothwa (advised 26.04.21/07h33). c) DIEDI was ridden by Jockey C Habib (advised 26.04.21/08h33) and this gelding raced with a compression mask. d) OUR SECRET was ridden by Jockey W Kennedy (advised 26.04.21/06h47).
