THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRETTY BETTY (R Fourie) was reluctant to load. b) ROSE PRINCESS (G van Niekerk) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 400m HAMMIE'S FAN (G Behr) was forced to check off the heels of MISS MILLSTREAM (L Mxothwa) which had switched out to obtain a clear run when insufficiently clear. Jockey L Mxothwa was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of MISS MILLSTREAM he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to HAMMIE'S FAN at the 400m. Jockey Mxothwa signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates: 04/05/2021 to 10/05/2021 inclusive) b) In view of the performance of ROYAL BLUE (G Cheyne), which raced wide without cover throughout, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) PRETTY BETTY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
