THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) BARD OF AVON (S Khumalo) proved difficult to load, thereafter this gelding was unruly in the stalls and was subsequently scratched by the Course Veterinary Surgeon. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer A B Fortune advised (GT).
b) ALESIAN CHIEF (M Yeni) was stubborn loading,
c) COUNT CRESTA (C Zackey) and IRISH SEA (F Herholdt) were stubborn loading and thereafter restless in the stalls.
d) VOLLUTO (C Habib) was restless in the stalls and thereafter jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
d) BLACK BURNER (B Nyawo), DRONFIELD (M van Rensburg) and TRUE BRIT (J Sampson) were
slow losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) LAIRD OF BREEDON proved reluctant to canter to the start and trotted most of the way. Stable Employee F Naude was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended.
b) ALESIAN CHIEF (M Yeni) raced green throughout.
c) LAIRD OF BREEDON (S Brown) shifted out away from the crop from the 400m when racing green and had to be continually straightened.
d) In view of the Starter's report with regard to BARD OF AVON, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading with a companion.
Suspension dates: 30th April 2021 to the 06 May 2021. BARD OF AVON may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer A B Fortune was advised.
e) BRONCO BLITZ (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
