THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TOO PHAT TO FLY (M Yeni) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 100m, DUBAWI PRINCESS (L Hewitson) had to ease for a number of strides and switched out to avoid running onto the heels of EMERALD CREST (S Khumalo), which shifted sharply both ways away from the crop from the 300m. An Objection was lodged by a member of the Stipendiary Board on behalf of the 3rd placed horse, DUBAWI PRINCESS (L Hewitson), against the 2nd placed horse, EMERALD CREST (S Khumalo), on the grounds of interference at approximately the 100m. The Objection Board, after giving regard to the evidence put forward, was of the opinion that the result had been affected by this incident and that DUBAWI PRINCESS would have finished ahead of EMERALD CREST and therefore upheld the Objection and amended the Judges result to read: 1st 1 TOO PHAT TO FLY (M Yeni) 2nd 5 DUBAWI PRINCESS (L Hewitson) 3rd 4 EMERALD CREST (S Khumalo) 4th 8 BROOKLYN BRIDGE (C Zackey) 5th 9 PERFECT ANGEL (*N Klink) b) When taking into consideration EMERALD CREST'S history with regards to hanging and shifting ground in races, this filly has been suspended indefinitely in terms of Rule 93.2.5 and until she proves tractable galloping on a straight course with a companion on a raceday. Stable Employee B Mngeni, acting on behalf of Trainer A G Laird, advised (DR). c) TOO PHAT TO FLY (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey M Yeni advised (DR). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) DESERT PRIDE was ridden by Jockey L J Ferraris (declared 28 April 2021 at 10H37). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) TOO PHAT TO FLY raced with a compression mask (declared 23 April 2021 at 08H46). b) DESERT PRIDE raced equipped with ear muffs and without a tongue (declared 29 April 2021 at 07H52). THE VETERINARY SURGEON HAD NO REPORTS. SCRATCHED: a) RISE AS ONE bruised off fore heel. Veterinary certificate received (Dr Y Tadmore) (Rule 53.5 applies). Suitable for reinstatement.
