THE STARTER REPORTED A) CALANDRA and NIPPY SWEETIE were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) Jockey L Hewitson reported that NIPPY SWEETIE made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. B) When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance from SARAJEVO (C Maujean), Trainer S B Kotzen told the Stewards that this filly's previous race was the first for her stable and followed a short break from another centre. For today's race she fitted blinkers which in her opinion coupled with today's race being on the Turf were the reasons for the improvement shown. Trainer S B Kotzen undertook to race SARAJEVO on the Turf Surface whenever possible in the immediate future. Her explanation was noted. C) The winner FIRST STREET was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer S B Kotzen advised (RJvR). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) SEEKING WISDOM was ridden by M V'Rensburg. Jockey L Mxothwa was unable to fulfil his engagement on SEEKING WISDOM due to flight complications (08:43 - 30/04/2021).
