THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AIRBUZZ (R Fourie) was stubborn to load. b) LEOPARD LADY (N Patel) was restless in the stalls. c) KINSKEY'S TUNE (S Khumalo) lost 3 lengths. d) TEMPELHOFF (M Yeni) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) DRAGON QUEEN (G Lerena) and JUST THE WIND (L Hewitson) raced wide in the early stages. Thereafter, at the 1000m, JUST THE WIND (L Hewitson) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the outside of DRAGON QUEEN (G Lerena) which rolled out. b) Jockey S Khumalo (KINSKEY'S TUNE) dropped his rein at the 150m, which he regained at the 50m. c) In view of the performance of DELMATIA (K Sakayi) (27.00 lengths, 66/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey G Lerena signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he mis-used his crop by striking the horse DRAGON QUEEN more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey G Lerena the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey G Lerena struck the horse DRAGON QUEEN, the distance over which and manner in which, Jockey G Lerena used his crop, the fact that he won the race and his record (0) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R1000 was imposed. e) DRAGON QUEEN (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A P Peter acting on behalf of Trainer P A Peter advised (SC). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) KINSKEY'S TUNE raced with a tongue tie (advised 30.04.21/13h54).
