THE STARTER REPORTED: a) POWER TO COMMAND (K Sakayi) was stubborn to load. b) SAINT PHILIP (*G Pieterse) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) IN AURO (R Fourie) over-raced in the early stages. b) DREAM DESTINY (S Khumalo) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. c) Approaching the 150m, SPRING FLING (*T Gumede) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the heels of PROSPERO (W Kennedy) which had come to the end of its run and on the inside of SAINT PHILIP (*G Pieterse) which shifted in away from the crop and thereafter shifted out away from the crop, from the 200m. In assessing this incident, the Board was of the view that no blame could be apportioned to any individual rider and therefore no further action was taken. d) Apprentice K Strydom reported that ASSURED changed stride continually in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jockey W Kennedy reported that PROSPERO did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Trainer G I Rich (CLOUDS OF WITNESS) will be advised that his runner failed to adequately parade and that should this gelding behave similarly in future, it may be suspended. g) SAINT PHILIP (*G Pieterse), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G B Puller advised (SC). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) ASSURED raced with a compression mask. b) IN AURO raced with a tongue tie (advised 02.05.21/08h32). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) ASSURED : Nothing obvious detected. b) PROSPERO : Lame left hind. Vet certificate required prior to re-entry.
