THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) PRINCESS CALLA (G van Niekerk) over-raced in the middle stages. Thereafter, this filly switched out to continue its run at the 300m and was hanging in from the 200m. b) In the concluding stages, ZARINA (K de Melo) which was hanging in from the 400m, was carried out by FREESTATE STAR (S Veale) which shifted out away from the crop marginally. c) GEE FOR GO (S Khumalo) shifted in away from the crop in the concluding stages. d) MISS ELEGANCE (C Maujean) was hanging in, in the concluding stages. e) In view of the performance of PATON'S TEARS (G Lerena) (6.70 lengths, 66/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) CAPTAIN'S RANSOM (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
