THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MK'S PRIDE (W Kennedy) was stubborn to load. Trainer P Peter will be advised to re-school this colt. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) An Inquiry will be opened to establish why THE GATEKEEPER (R Fourie), RUSSIAN ROCK (K de Melo) and KOMMETDIEDING (S Cele) suffered varied degrees of interference at the 1300m. b) At the 250m, RUSSIAN ROCK (K de Melo) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed between BARTHOLDI (S Khumalo) and LINEBACKER (G van Niekerk) which switched out off the heels of TREAD SWIFTLY (D Dillon). c) Jockey S Khumalo reported that BARTHOLDI did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) LINEBACKER (G van Niekerk), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer V H Marshall advised (DA).
