THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HALLOWEEN (C Murray) got his hind leg stuck in the stalls, was taken out, examined by the course veterinary surgeon and passed fit to race, causing a delay. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) KUNMING (G Cheyne) cast his left front shoe, which had to be refitted at the start. b) Approaching the 300m FYNBOS (S Mbhele) had to be directed to the outside of GREY PRINCESS (O Noach) to continue its run. c) Jockey C Murray, the rider of HALLOWEEN, reported that this filly made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. d) FYNBOS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Alsop, acting on behalf of Trainer VH Marshall, was advised. (SC) e) KUNMING, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistance Trainer Miss M Arnold, acting on behalf of Trainer C Bass-Robinson, was advised.
