THE STARTER REPORTED: a) IMPERIAL MASTER (D De Gouveia) and HUMBLE TUNE (C Zackey) were slow into stride. b) HAVE A GO JO (L Hewitson) was slow losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey C Zackey reported that the saddle on HUMBLE TUNE slipped back in running and that this had affected his riding in the race. That Jockey Zackey's saddle had slipped back marginally, was confirmed by an Official. In view of the performance of HUMBLE TUNE (betting 4/1, distance 9,75 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) Jockey L Hewitson reported that he felt something amiss with HAVE A GO JO in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockey D De Gouveia was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking IMPERIAL MASTER more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey De Gouveia signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. d) OYSTER KING (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C I Jonker advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) HUMBLE TUNE Jockey C Zackey weighed out at 54,3kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) HAVE A GO JO scalped wound right hind. b) HUMBLE TUNE examined post race, nothing obvious detected. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
