THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GARDEN PARTY (G Lerena) and SOUTH EAST (W Kennedy) jumped outwards and ORAVAR (*X Jacobs) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. b) GODSWOOD (C Zackey) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, AMERICAN HUSTLE (*J R Syster) was buffeted between ORAVAR (*X Jacobs) and SOUTH EAST (W Kennedy) which jumped outwards. b) Shortly after the start, GARDEN PARTY (G Lerena) and HERSTEL (L J Ferraris) came together and bumped. c) GODSWOOD (C Zackey) hung in from the 300m. d) Jockey C Habib the rider of CAPTAIN HINDSIGHT accidentally dropped his crop at the 150m. e) At approximately the 100m, HERSTEL (L J Ferraris) was directed inwards to continue its run off the heels of SWEET SENSATION (M Yeni) which had come to the end of its run. f) Jockey G Lerena reported that he felt something amiss with GARDEN PARTY in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. g) SINGFONICO (J Greyling), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee F Naude advised (AH).
