THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Apprentice O Rusike (BEDAZZLED JOKER) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. b) ASHFORD CASTLE (*J Jacobs) was hanging from the 400m. c) At the 300m, DI MAZZIO (AUS) (*G Pieterse) was carried in by MIND SET (*K Strydom) which was hanging in between the 350m and 250m. d) In the concluding stages, MAJORCA PALACE (*K A Brewer) was brushed out by WINTER WAVES (*C F Dicken) which shifted out away from the crop marginally. Apprentice C F Dicken (WINTER WAVES) appeared before the Board with regard to the above incident, was shown the patrol films and advised to take more care when shifting ground in races in future. e) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning DI MAZZIO (AUS), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer L W Goosen was advised. (Suspension Dates : 06.05.21 - 04.07.21, bdi) f) ASHFORD CASTLE (*J Jacobs), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G S Kotzen advised (DA). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) VOICE NOTES raced with a tongue tie (advised 01.05.21/10h19). b) ASHFORD CASTLE raced without a tongue tie (advised 04.05.21/09h46). c) MIND SET raced with alumites, and an alumite bar shoe right front (advised 30.04.21/08h31).
