THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FASHIONIGMA (C Habib) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) From the start until approximately the 1200m, ROUTE SIXTY SIX (L Hewitson) hung in badly proving difficult to assist. Thereafter this filly commenced to hang in again from the 300m. b) LOOK YOURSELF (*K Matsunyane) and NORTHERN GLOW (S Khumalo) hung in from the 300m. c) Jockey S Khumalo was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride the horse NORTHERN GLOW out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards. Jockey Khumalo signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1000 was imposed. Notwithstanding the fact that Jockey Khumalo had not prejudiced a position, the Board was of the opinion that the level of determination and vigour displayed by him in the concluding stages, was not to the requisite standard expected of a Jockey in a tight finish. d) LOOK YOURSELF (*K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
