THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ENRIQUE (W Kennedy) refused to load. The Starting Stall Certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. b) ROCK OF AFRICA (R Simons), DARK TIDE (R Danielson) and DOUBLE MARTINI (M Yeni) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to ENRIQUE, this gelding has been suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 30 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 7 May 2021 to 5 June 2021. ENRIQUE may not be presented for repassing during this period. Trainer C Dawson advised (GT). b) Jockey S Khumalo was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking ROYAL WULFF more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey Khumalo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R2000. When assessing the penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times (13), the fact that that he won the race and Jockey Khumalo's recent record with regard to this Rule and Guideline. c) ROYAL WULFF (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
