THE STARTER REPORTED: a) EXPRESS BAYOU (+B Mayiya) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. b) SABRINA FAIRCHILD (+G Dadamasi) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BAMBOLEO (+M Duba) was unruly, refused to proceed to the start and was subsequently scratched. This colt is suspended in terms of Rule 93.2.4 and until such time as this colt proves tractable proceeding to the start on a raceday. Assistant Trainer A Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer B Webber, advised (RH). b) EXPRESS BAYOU (+B Mayiya) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls and made contact with the right front gate. c) Shortly after the start, THEROSEOFBECHARRE (+C Mabaya) was brushed in by SABRINA FAIRCHILD (+G Dadamasi), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. d) At approximately the 1000m, SABRINA FAIRCHILD (+G Dadamasi), FROSTED ICE (+P Mlangeni) and THEROSEOFBECHARRE (+C Mabaya) suffered varying degrees of interference when brushed in by EXPRESS BAYOU (+B Mayiya), which was ridden in to secure a run on the inside of LIL WAHOO (+E Vireira). e) Work Rider B Mayiya was charged with for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he, as the rider of EXPRESS BAYOU, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to a number of runners when he shifted in at approximately the 1000m. Work Rider B Mayiya signed an admission of guilt and was suspended from riding in one Work Rider's race. Date of suspension: 20th May 2021. f) PINK COSMOS (+J Gwingwizha) shifted out sharply away from the crop from the 600m. g) Work Rider G Dadamasi reported that he felt something amiss with SABRINA FAIRCHILD in running and did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. h) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning SABRINA FAIRCHILD, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority.
