THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BRASS LASSI (D Dillon) was fractious in the stalls, removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race and reloaded. b) MISS EMBLEM (*K Brewer) reared in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) In the concluding stages, MAKE IT HAPPEN (T Godden) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the inside of BRASS LASSI (D Dillon) which was hanging in from the 300m. b) In the concluding stages, MISS EMBLEM (*K Brewer) was carried out by MILLSY'S GIRL (M Mjoka) which shifted out away from the crop marginally. c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to BRASS LASSI, this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 11.05.21 to the 17.05.21. BRASS LASSI may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer W Whitehead was advised. (SN) d) Jockey S Veale signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse DIAMOND GIRL more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey S Veale the Board considered the number of times (14) Jockey S Veale struck the horse DIAMOND GIRL, the distance over which and manner in which, Jockey S Veale used his crop and his record (4) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R1000 was imposed. Jockey S Veale was further advised that should he appear before the Board regarding similar contraventions in the near future, more severe sanctions may be imposed. e) RED ROSA (E Ngwane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G B Puller advised (SC). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) MISS EMBLEM raced with a compression mask. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) BRASS LASSI : Cut into right hind. SCRATCHINGS : a) SHAKEN NOT STIRRED : Insufficient recovery time (Trainer - 10.05.21/07h22).
