THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FOLLOW MY PATH (S Moodley), ROCKCLIFFE (S Veale) and KNIGHT WARRIOR (L Ferraris) were slow into stride. b) THE SNOW WAR (T Godden) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) In the concluding stages, RUNNING FREELY (*T Gumede) was brushed out by FLYING PETER (K de Melo) which rolled out. b) THE SNOW WAR (T Godden) was hanging in between the 400m and 300m. Thereafter, this gelding shifted in away from the crop in the concluding stages. c) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with LIFE GOES ON in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer P Lunn will be advised to report back to Stipendiary Board on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. d) In view of the performance of BLACK FOX (6.40 lengths, 14/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Assistant Trainer C Eudey acting on behalf of Trainer M Miller signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 11.2.8, in that he presented HELLO AGAIN in the parade ring incorrectly equipped for this race. Accordingly, a penalty of a warning was imposed. f) FLYING PETER (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer N Roscoe acting on behalf of Trainer D Kannemeyer advised (ML). g) RUNNING FREELY (*T Gumede), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
