THE STARTER REPORTED
A) TRILLIONAIRE and SOUTH SANDWICH were stubborn loading.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED
A) JUST DIXIT (K Minnie) failed to muster speed and raced detached from the field throughout. Thereafter, Jockey K Minnie reported that he felt something amiss with JUST DIXIT in the running The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
B) Trainer A C Greeff signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he did not have available the registered colours of the owner/s of the horse KINGS FORT. A penalty of a warning was imposed.
C) The winner PACIFIC DUKE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer S B Kotzen advised (LM).
When questioned regarding the performance on the 12th March 2021. Trainer S B Kotzen explained to the Board that she was not on course on the day, but had been informed by her stable's representative that PACIFIC DUKE had injured itself in the saddling enclosure prior to the running of that race which may have had a bearing on his performance. The Board noted this explanation, but also noted that the gelding had been passed fit to race by the Course Veterinary Surgeon.
