THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ELECTRA FLYING (*C F Dicken) and ZERNEZ (C Habib) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 400m, CONTRAIL (*X Jacobs) had to steady momentarily to avoid the heels of BALL ROLLING (*P Mxoli), which rolled in marginally. b) IRISH RAIN (S Khumalo) hung in from the 300m. c) At approximately the 200m, EL ROMIACHI (G Lerena) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of SERGEI (W Kennedy), which rolled outwards. d) BLUE MOON CITY (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer P A Peter, advised (LN). Assistant Trainer A Peter appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the improved performance of BLUE MOON CITY. In this regard, he explained to the Board that the removal of the blinkers and tongue tie and the fact that this gelding raced from a more forward position in todays race had accounted for the improved performance. Assistant Trainer A Peter has undertaken to race BLUE MOON CITY similarly equipped in future and to adopt similar tactics, where possible. e) FRENCH LEAVE, scratched at the start, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J Borman advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) BLUE MOON CITY raced without blinkers and a tongue tie (declared 13 May 2021 at 07H23).
