THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) SCENTED MISTRESS (*J Jacobs) over-raced in the early and middle stages. b) At the 1700m, JACQUELINE (L J Ferraris) and SCENTED MISTRESS (*J Jacobs) were tightened for galloping room when awkwardly placed between RATTLE MOUSE (R Fourie), which brushed the hindquarters of SCENTED MISTRESS (*J Jacobs) and was unbalanced into the turn, and OCEAN FOREST (S Khumalo), which rolled out marginally. c) ELECTRIC SURGE (S Moodley) was hanging out from the 300m. d) KEEP ON DANCING (W Kennedy) was hanging in from the 300m. e) At the 250m, LADY OF STEEL (G Lerena) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the outside of FLOWER OF SAIGON (C Zackey) which was hanging out from the 400m, proving difficult to assist. In assessing this matter, the Board attributed the cause of the above incident to the behaviour of FLOWER OF SAIGON. Consequently, Trainer G Kotzen will be advised to take all reasonable measures to improve the racing manners of this filly and was further advised that should this filly behave similarly in future, it may be suspended. f) In view of the performance of LADY OF STEEL (G Lerena) (5.55 lengths, 11/10 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer J J van Vuuren will be advised to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of this filly on return to stables. g) KEEP ON DANCING (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W Whitehead advised (SC). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) OCEAN FOREST Jockey S Khumalo weighed out at 52.5kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight. b) PINCH ME Apprentice T Gumede weighed out at 50.6kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) LADY OF STEEL : Nothing obvious detected. Returned post-race having lifted the right front shoe. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS
