THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HAMSA GROVE (W Agrella) was restless in the stalls and lost 1 length. b) DICE THE BULLET (*J Syster) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) HARPER'S DREAM (*K Strydom) over-raced in the early stages. Thereafter, Apprentice K Strydom reported that he felt something amiss with HARPER'S DREAM in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) HAMSA GROVE (W Agrella) over-raced in the early and middle stages. c) At the 250m, TANGO TIME (S Moodley) took an awkward stride. d) In view of the performances of ENRAPTURE (R Fourie) (5.60 lengths, 7/1 in the betting) and TANGO TIME (S Moodley) (3.85 lengths, 13/2 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jockey C Storey signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse KILDONAN BAY more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey C Storey the Board considered the number of times (15) Jockey C Storey struck the horse KILDONAN BAY, the distance over which and manner in which, Jockey C Storey used his crop, the fact that he won the race and his record (0) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. f) KILDONAN BAY (C Storey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D I Campbell advised (DA). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) HEREINAFTER raced with a tongue tie (advised 17.05.21/16h33). b) BOOGIE SHOES raced with a compression mask. c) DICE THE BULLET raced equipped with blinkers (advised 19.05.21/08h05). d) MAIDENS PRAYER was ridden by Jockey C Zackey and this filly raced equipped with blinkers and without cheek pieces (advised 19.05.21/08h09).
