THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLUE SPARK (S Khumalo) and MISS KHALIFA (R Munger) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (RS): a) Leaving the 1100m, COUNTRY SQUIRE (M van Rensburg), which commenced to over-race, had to steady and switch in to avoid the heels of MISS COSTA RICA (N Qaule). b) Shortly before the finish line, COUNTRY SQUIRE (M van Rensburg) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed between GLOBAL RANSOM (C Maujean) and FROMHERETOETERNITY (*P Mxoli), which rolled in marginally. c) Jockey W Kennedy reported that BLUE EYES did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) In view of the performance of SUCCESSFUL SECRET, (distance 4,75 lengths, betting 25/7), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) FROMHERETOETERNITY (*P Mxoli), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
