THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GOLD GRIFFIN (N Qaule) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In the concluding stages, FUNKY MUSIC (C Habib) was carried out marginally by NAMAQUALAND (R Danielson), which shifted out away from the crop and was straightened. b) Jockey L J Ferraris reported that ME TIME did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey G Lerena reported that he felt something amiss with GOOD QUEEN BESS (GB) in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey R Danielson reported that NAMAQUALAND made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) SOUND OF SUMMER (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P A Peter advised (LS).
