THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CORAL COPY (D Dillon) was stubborn to load. Trainer S Humby was advised to re-school this gelding. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 1000m, BLOOD EAGLE (S Moodley) had to ease when awkwardly placed on heels. b) Apprentice T Gumede (BOURBON BEAT) dropped his crop at the 200m. c) Jockey C Habib reported that DONE AND DUSTED choked up in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey S Randolph reported that SIR HENRY HAWKINS made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jockey W Agrella signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse VICTORY TWIST more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey W Agrella the Board considered the number of times (21) Jockey W Agrella struck the horse VICTORY TWIST, the distance over which and manner in which, Jockey W Agrella used his crop and his record (0) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days was imposed. (Suspension dates : 25.05.21 - 31.05.21) f) ELLIS ISLAND (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer N Kotzen advised (SC). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) KOMODOSAN raced without a tongue tie (advised 21.05.21/8h40). b) BOURBON BEAT raced with a tongue tie (22.05.21/08h35). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
