THE STARTER REPORTED: a) STAR EFFECT (+ T Baase) was stubborn loading. b) SIGNALS (+J Gwingwizha) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) FLOWER DUET (+L Majenge) and NAVAL GUARD (+C Mabaya) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SIGNALS (+J Gwingwizha) took an awkward stride at approximately the 600m. b) FLOWER DUET (+L Majenge) failed to muster speed and gave ground to the field from the 400m. c) QUALITY JOKER (+S Tshobosa) shifted out away from the crop from the 400m. d) Work Rider S Tshobosa was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he struck QUALITY JOKER more than twelve times in the entire race. Work Rider S Tshobosa signed an Admission of Guilt, and he is suspended from riding in one Work Rider race. Date of Suspension: 8th June 2021. When assessing this penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times (15) he used the crop in the entire race, the manner in which and the distance over which the crop was used. e) Leaving the 150m, GLOBAL PLAYER switched out to continue its run and thereafter shifted in away from the crop in the concluding stages. f) POMELO (+S Mosia), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer P A Peter, advised (AH). WORK RIDER CHANGES: a) STAR EFFECT: Work Rider T Baase weighed out at 60,8kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) FLOWER DUET abnormal respiratory noise. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
