THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, READYSETGLO (B Nyawo) kicked the back gate resulting in BANGOR NIGHT (R Munger) breaking open the front gate. BANGOR NIGHT (R Munger) was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. Trainer H van der Westhuizen was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (GT). b) READYSETGLO (B Nyawo) was slow losing one length. c) SITTING BULL (G Lerena) and COUNTESS TRENTON (C Maujean) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1100m, ROGER THE DODGER (J Sampson), which commenced to over-race, clipped the heels of CATCHTHEGREENLIGHT (*C F Dicken), which over-raced in the early stages. b) An inquiry will be opened to establish why ROGER THE DODGER (J Sampson) and BANGOR NIGHT (R Munger) were carried in and why MISS COSTA RICA (W Kennedy) had to check leaving the 400m. c) At approximately the 200m, READYSETGLO (B Nyawo) was switched out to continue its run. d) ENCORE (L Hewitson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry advised (RS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) BANGOR NIGHT raced unshod (declared 26 May 2021 at 14H08). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) ENCORE cut into right hind lateral aspect of the cannon bone. b) CATCHTHEGREENLIGHT cast its right hind shoe in running. SCRATCHED: a) PINK swollen left fore (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
