THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) HIGH GREEN (J Gates) was hanging in from the 300m. b) Jockey K de Melo reported that LION'S HEAD did not stride out freely in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer D Kannemeyer was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. An Inquiry will be opened into Jockey K de Melo's ride on LION'S HEAD in the concluding stages. c) Apprentice J Jacobs signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse GENTLEMAN'S WAGER more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (14) Apprentice J Jacobs struck the horse GENTLEMAN'S WAGER, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (0) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R750 was imposed. d) SEA MASTER (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R Hill advised (DA). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) HIGH GREEN was ridden by Jockey J Gates (advised 02.06.21/08h11). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
