THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ORAVAR (R Munger) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) RIVARINE (G Lerena) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, the left side gate bounced back, making contact with EPIC DREAM'S (*P Mxoli) shoulder. b) Leaving the 500m, EPIC DREAM (*P Mxoli) shifted out sharply for no apparent reason. c) Leaving the 400m, BOLD RANSOM (W Kennedy) and ORAVAR (R Munger) came together and brushed. d) Jockey M Yeni was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline C on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking VALYRIAN KING more than three times on consecutive strides. Jockey M Yeni signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R 1,000-00 was imposed. e) BOLD RANSOM (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P A Peter advised (DR). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) RIVARINE was ridden by Jockey G Lerena (declared 3 June 2021 at 15H47). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) DOUBLE 'O' EIGHT raced equipped with blinkers (declared 30 May 2021 at 08H34).
