THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) FRENCH REBEL (+C Mabaya) and MASTER ARCHIE (+P Mongqawa) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) Shortly after the start, VOLLUTO (+G Dadamasi) was bumped outwards by SWINGTHEWILLOW (+J Gwingwizha) which was carried out by FRENCH REBEL (+C Mabaya) which jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
b) Shortly after the start, FRENCH REBEL (+C Mabaya) had to steady momentarily to avoid running onto the heels of JET CAT (+N Ngqwangi) which jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
c) LULU'S BOY (+G Lahoud) shifted out away from the crop from the 400m to the 100m.
d) Approaching the 300m, SIERRADELTASIERRA (+T Ngxono) was brushed out on two occasions by FRENCH REBEL (+C Mabaya) which hung out from the 400m.
e) IL PADRINO (+S Mosia) raced green.
f) Workrider J Gwingwizha reported that he felt something amiss with SWINGTHEWILLOW in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
g) MASTER ARCHIE (+P Mongqawa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Peter advised (AH).
h) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning SWINGTHEWILLOW, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended from racing for a period of sixty days in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer S G Tarry advised (NHA).
WORKRIDER CHANGES:
None.
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER:
a) SIERRADELTASIERRA raced without blinkers (declared 5 June 2021 at 19H35).
b) EIGHTS ENOUGH and MARACA GINGER raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 2 June 2021 at 13H38).
c) IL PADRINO raced with club colours (blue and black). Trainer A B Fortune was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that she did not have available the registered colours of the owner/s of the horse IL PRADINO. Trainer Fortune signed an Admission of Guilt and a penalty of a Warning was imposed.
d) MASTER ARCHIE Workrider P Mongqawa weighed out at 57,6kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
e) VOLLUTO Workrider G Dadamasi weighed out at 57,8kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED:
a) SWINGTHEWILLOW bilateral epistaxis. Recommended sixty-day suspension. Trainer S G Tarry advised (KS).
b) LULU'S BOY abnormal respiratory noise.
c) SIERRADELTASIERRA abnormal respiratory noise.
d) VOLLUTO abnormal respiratory noise.
THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
