THE STARTER REPORTED: a) IMPRESSIVE DUCHESS (J Greyling) and COUNTESS HELEN (F Herholdt) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) GLOWTORIA (G Lerena) was slow into stride. c) ZODIAC PRINCESS (C Maujean) stumbled leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In the concluding stages, EMERALD CREST (S Khumalo) shifted in away from the crop. Shortly thereafter, EMERALD CREST changed stride and shifted out unexpectedly resulting in Jockey Khumalo becoming unbalanced and being unable to fully assist this filly to the end of the race. When taking this filly's behaviour into account, her future performances will be closely monitored. b) Jockey G Lerena reported that GLOWTORIA made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey R Munger reported that he felt something amiss with SEEMYVISION in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) IMPRESSIVE DUCHESS (J Greyling), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) COUNTESS HELEN Jockey F Herholdt weighed out at 53,9kg, 1,5kg over the carded weight of which 1kg was declared. b) SEEMYVISION Jockey R Munger weighed out at 52,8kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) GLOWTORIA abnormal respiratory noise and not striding out right hind. b) NINA AMELIA coughing and cut into right hind postern. c) ZODIAC PRINCESS abnormal respiratory noise. d) SEEMYVISION speedy cut left hind. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
