THE STARTER REPORTED A) COLD FUSION was stubborn loading, slow away and lost 1 length. B) CIDER was slow away and lost 1 length. C) DIPLADENIA was unruly at the start. D) OPERA SWING jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls, was slow away and lost 1 length. E) JOINT EFFORT kicked the back gate in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) At approximately the 300m, CIDER (X Ndlovu) had to steady when awkwardly placed on the heels of COLD FUSION (C Maujean) which shifted out away from the crop. Jockey C Maujean appeared before the Board and was advised to take earlier corrective measures when shifting ground. B) Jockey X Ndlovu reported that CIDER did not stride out freely in the running and coughed post-race. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. C) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning CIDER (X Ndlovu), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer J H Strydom was advised. D) The winner BLINGKING was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) BLINGKING raced equipped with blinkers (09:17 - 10/06/2021). THERE WERE NO RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED A) JOINT EFFORT post-race distress syndrome (mild). B) MAGIC BLAZE blowing. C) OPERA SWING fatigue.
