THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Leaving the 450m, SPYDAS CORNER (K de Melo) was brushed out by SHAMPOMPO SHAMPIZI (W Kennedy) which rolled out marginally. Thereafter, at the 300m, SPYDAS CORNER (K de Melo) was carried out by SHAMPOMPO SHAMPIZI (W Kennedy) which shifted out in order to avoid the heels of PHINDA MZALA (J Gates) which led the field into the straight and subsequently compounded. As a consequence of this incident, SPYDAS CORNER (K de Melo) and SPEED MACHINE (R Fourie) which rolled in marginally, came together and bumped. b) In view of the performances of SLALOM QUEEN (L Hewitson) (5.55 lengths, 8/1 in the betting) and CAPTAIN OUPIE (M Yeni) (5.15 lengths, 17/2 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) ZIVA LA WINTER (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
