THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) OVATION (K de Melo) kicked in the stalls.
b) BRAMHALL PHOENIX (O Noach) was fractious in the stalls.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) The stewards reviewed the start with regard to JUSTFORKIX (R Khathi) in stall gate 1 and established that the gelding had shifted in sharply shortly after the start and had dislodged Jockey R Khathi. No further action was taken. In view of this report regarding JUSTFORKIX (R Khathi), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. (Suspension dates: 14/06/2021 to 20/06/2021 inclusive). JUSTFORKIX may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
b) Jockey R Fourie (WIND SOCK) dropped his crop at the 250m.
c) BONANZA (D Ashby) and EXCEED EXPECTATION (G van Niekerk) raced green.
d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding BRAMHALL PHOENIX (O Noach), Trainer GV Woodruff will be advised to have this colt re schooled before his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
e) OVATION, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised. (SC)
f) GAUDIS MASTERPIECE, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Snaith, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised (BM)
