THE STARTER REPORTED A) BEND NOT BREAK (IRE) refused to jump, losing many lengths and thereafter refused to gallop. The starting stall certificate for this filly is withdrawn. B) INBETWEEN DREAMS was slow away and lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) Jockey J Mphanya reported that LATIFAH'S QUEEN coughed post-race. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. B) Jockey R Fourie signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking the horse CIANNA more than 12 times in the entire race. When assessing the penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times (14) the crop was used, Jockey Fourie's recent record with regards to this rule and that he won the race. A penalty of a R1500 fine was imposed. C) In view of the Starter's report with regard to BEND NOT BREAK (IRE) (L Hewitson), this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable to jump on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 16 June 2021 to 22 June 2021 both days included. BEND NOT BREAK (IRE) may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer G D Smith was advised. D) The winner CIANNA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) BEND NOT BREAK (IRE) raced equipped with a compression mask (14:52 - 14/06/2021). B) SAMARA raced equipped with pacifiers and without blinkers (08:25 - 15/06/2021).
