THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GLOBAL RANSOM (C Maujean) stumbled badly leaving the stalls. b) I DREAM OF GENIE (C Zackey) was slow losing one length. c) ME TIME (W Kennedy) was slow into stride. d) IRON MIKE (*X Jacobs) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GLOBAL RANSOM (C Maujean) stumbled badly leaving the stalls and thereafter Jockey Maujean reported that GLOBAL RANSOM took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) Shortly after the start, PERFECT ANGEL (*M H Zuma) became unbalanced when bumped in by BRONCO BLITZ (R Munger) who in turn was brushed in by IRON MIKE (*X Jacobs) which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) IRON MIKE (*X Jacobs) raced to the front and compounded from the 200m. d) Jockey L Hewitson reported that NAMAQUALAND made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) Apprentice J R Syster reported that BANGOR NIGHT took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) PUTINS PROMISE (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
