THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ZURUMOTI (M Yeni), AMERICAN DAME (J Sampson) and JALALABAD (E Ngwane) were stubborn to load. b) IRIDESCENT (S Randolph) and LUCKY MISS (G Lerena) lost 2 lengths, respectively. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) LUCKY MISS (G Lerena) which raced greenly in the running, was outpaced in the early and middle stages. Thereafter, this filly finished its race off strongly. b) COOL COMFORT (S Moodley) was hanging in from the 800m, proving difficult to assist. c) DELMATIA (*J Jacobs) was hanging in from the 500m. d) I'M READY (D Dillon) was hanging in from the 300m. e) MISS LIALAH (L Ferrais) and LOVE THE FLAG (*R Venniker) were hanging in, in the concluding stages. f) Between the 300m and the finish, JALALABAD (E Ngwane) initially ducked out and thereafter, shifted in sharply away from the crop. g) Apprentices D Geerthsen (TWICEASFAST) and R Venniker (LOVE THE FLAG) completed satisfactory qualifying rides. h) Assistant Trainer C Austin acting for Trainer S Humby appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the improved performance of TWICEASFAST. In this regard, Ms Austin explained that, at this stage of her career, this filly had appreciated returning to racing down the straight in comparison to racing around the turn at Hollywoodbets Greyville which is where she produced the only two poor performances of her career. Additionally, TWICEASFAST which can be temperamental, had appreciated the layoff afforded after its last run, during which time, she had matured and strengthened. The Board noted this explanation. i) TWICEASFAST (*D Geerthsen), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Austin acting on behalf of Trainer S Humby advised (SC). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) JALALABAD was ridden by Jockey E Ngwane (advised 18.06.21/10h18). b) IRIDESCENT raced with alumites in front, unshod behind (advised 16.06.21/10h25). c) CAPE PRINCESS raced with alumites in front, unshod behind (advised 18.06.21/20h16). d) I'M READY raced without a tongue tie (advised 16.06.21/07h40). e) AMERICAN DAME raced with ear muffs (advised 18.06.21/08h56). f) LOVE THE FLAG raced equipped with blinkers (advised 18.06.21/15h36). g) COOL COMFORT raced with alumites in front, unshod behind (advised 19.06.21/07h58).
