THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SOIREE (A Arries) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) In a tightly bunched field, at the 300m, DIECI (S Veale) and BLUSH OF DAWN (L Ferraris) were momentarily inconvenienced on heels and FLASHY KAITRINA (M Yeni) and VIVID JET (K de Melo) were carried out marginally, when awkwardly placed on the outside of GARDENIA (N Patel) which was baulked for a clear run between the 500m and the 300m, subsequently shifted out to continue its run and finished its race off strongly. b) DUNYAA (*K Brewer) was hanging in from the 300m. c) Apprentices D Geerthsen (RETAIL THERAPY) and R Venniker (JACK'S BIRD) completed satisfactory qualifying rides. d) Trainer M J Odendaal appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the improved performance of GARDENIA (N Patel). In this regard, Mr Odendaal explained that this filly appreciated racing on the grass today and obtaining cover in the running in comparison to its last two runs. The Board noted this explanation and advised Mr Odendaal that any change in tactics must be reported to the Board prior to the running of the race and that this filly's consistency will be monitored by the Board moving forward. e) GARDENIA (N Patel), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M J Odendaal advised (SC). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) RETAIL THERAPY raced equipped with blinkers and with a tongue tie (advised 19.06.21/07h28). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) DIFFERENT FACE (GB) : Cut into right hind. SCRATCHINGS : a) VIVID JET : Lame right hind (Trainer - 18.06.21/09h05). Rule 53.5 applies.
