THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SPEEDPOINT (A Mgudlwa) refused to load and was withdrawn. b) FILIPPO (S Moodley) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 500m, whilst racing in tight quarters, SEVENTH GEAR (K de Melo) was carried in by CONSTABLE (R Fourie) which was hanging in from the 800m and VALYRIAN KING (M Yeni) was carried in by GREAT SHAKA (S Veale) which was hanging in from the 600m. Each of the aforementioned inward movements, were as a result of GREAT SHAKA (S Veale) which appeared to roll in, in reaction to a marginal roll in by VERNICHEY (W Kennedy). As a consequence of these incidents, QUANT MASTER (E Ngwane) which was positioned on the inside of these runners, had to ease when tightened for galloping room. b) In view of the Starter's report with regard to SPEEDPOINT (A Mgudlwa), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion on a race day. Suspension dates: 20.06.21 to the 26.06.21. SPEEDPOINT may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer L Goosen will be advised. (SN) c) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning CONSTABLE, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer C Bass-Robinson will be advised. (Suspension dates : 20.06.21 - 18.08.21, bdi) d) VERNICHEY (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) CONSTABLE : Bi-lateral epistaxis and speedy cut left hind. Confirmed 60 days suspension. b) GOOD RHYTHM : Returned post-race having cast the right fore shoe. THE MEDICAL OFFICER REPORTED : a) Jockey J Sampson was examined after being dislodged:- bruised ribs and sprained right knee. Unable to continue riding. Dr Pillay. Rule 25.12 does not apply. However, Jockey J Sampson will have to be examined by the Course Medical Officer prior to his next engagement.
